On Saturday, June 12, Nicolaus Moore, a Scout with Boy Scout Troop 101 on Fort Campbell, met with other Scouts at Billy Dunlop Park. Nic was completing his long-awaited Eagle project. His project was replacing a flag pole that had been removed years ago.
Nic, along with his project mentor Ernest Schmidt from American Legion CSM Gary W. Crisp Post 289, teamed up and met with Clarksville Parks and Recreation managers along with Nic’s mother, Jacqueline, at the park to plan the project. The entire project cost about $1,000, which Nic earned by doing fundraising and a GoFundMe account. Nic’s mother is an active-duty soldier at Fort Campbell, Dad is retired from Fort Campbell; both are members of American Legion Post 289 in Clarksville.
This will be the second Eagle Scout in the Moore family, as Nic’s brother made Eagle last year. Nic has scheduled a dedication program for later in the month of July.
