CLARKSVILLE, TN – Free testing sites are opening this week at Heritage Park and Crow Recreation Center in response to the overwhelming need for COVID testing in Clarksville.
The sites are part of a partnership between the City of Clarksville and CH Consulting Solutions, according to a city news release.
“As COVID-19 numbers began to rise throughout Clarksville-Montgomery County, the City looked at ways that it could help,” Clarksville Parks & Recreation Director Jennifer Letourneau said. “By providing CH Consulting Solutions a place to provide testing, we utilized our resources to help alleviate stress on other testing sites throughout the area and help people get the testing they need to navigate these challenging times.”
Beginning Sept. 7, Heritage Park soccer parking lot at 1241 Peachers Mill Road will be used as a COVID testing site Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A tent with equipment has been set up in the parking lot closest to the road.
The Crow Recreation Center parking lot at 211 Richview Road will serve as an alternate COVID testing location, but only on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Those being tested should to remain in their vehicles. Restrooms will be reserved for nurses and staff.
CH Consulting Solutions is a Nashville-based emergency medicine provider offering oral swab testing with a one- to two-day results turnaround Monday-Friday and a three- to four-day turnaround Saturday and Sunday.
Other testing sites
COVID-19 testing is still being conducted at the Montgomery County Health Department, at 330 Pageant Lane. According to director Joey Smith, the presentation of symptoms is not a requirement to get tested.
No appointment is necessary, however Smith told Clarksville Now the department had received approval to prioritize children and the uninsured.
Staff-administered PCR tests are available from 8-10 a.m., Monday-Friday. Self-administered PCR kits are available 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Several pharmacies, doctor’s offices and urgent care centers are offering COVID tests, but not all of them will test if you don’t have symptoms. Call in advance to for information.
