MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County has announced a new program to help those isolated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Montgomery County COVID-19 Match hopes to spread a message of hope and compassion by pairing elderly and high-risk individuals with someone to speak and interact with in a safe way.
Healthy young adults with low risk factors can sign up to be paired with an elder or high-risk person who could use help.
When a match is made, it is up to the participants to decide how often they will meet and what kind of assistance can be provided. Some ideas may include:
- Regular calls for a welfare check
- Assistance picking up groceries or prescriptions
- Delivery of homemade meals
This program is being organized by private citizens and the Rotary International District 6760. For more information on how to sign up, click here.
