NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – In Governor Lee’s daily briefing, it was announced that Tennesseans may be one step closer to faster testing.

A coronavirus test that can diagnose in as little as 45-minutes may be in the state as early as the end of this week. The FDA approved the test giving it emergency clearance, Saturday, March 18. It has now begun to hit the market.

According to the TN Department of Health, parts have already started to arrive in the state.

This would be a huge relief to healthcare workers, as current testing can take up to two-weeks to get results. The backlog of tests has many frustrated as they don’t feel clear numbers are being represented.

This is a developing story.
