Update, 7:50 p.m.: The Crime Scene Team has finished processing the shooting scene at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, and the roadway has reopened, CPD said.

In the Whitfield Road search, witnesses earlier reported seeing a black pickup truck being loaded onto a trailer and removed from the area. Police confirmed that the Whitfield Road perimeter has been cleared.

Update, 6:50 p.m.: People in the Whitfield Road area said police have left, the perimeter has been lifted, and neighbors are being told they can leave their homes. Clarksville Now has reached out to CPD for confirmation.

Update, 5 p.m.: After Clarksville Police responded to the scene at 3:18 p.m., a suspect vehicle description was sent out to officers, Beaubien said.

At 3:37 p.m., the suspect vehicle was found empty on Bauling Lane, off of Whitfield Road. A perimeter was set up to contain the area and locate the suspect. “It was determined that they dumped the vehicle and fled the area,” Beaubien said.

Anyone who lives in the Singletree subdivision or within the perimeter area is asked to review any security camera footage and see if they observe any suspicious activity, and to please call 911 to report that activity.

The shooting victim’s condition has not been released.

Update, 4:35 p.m.: Photos from the scene shared with Clarksville Now show a red Dodge Charger with 18 bullet holes in the driver’s side door and window.

The Charger appears to have crashed into a gold Jeep Cherokee, which then rear-ended a red pickup truck.

Update, 4:10 p.m.: Traffic on Wilma is backed up on both sides of Holiday, including traffic coming off of the Interstate 24 eastbound ramp.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Several neighborhoods have been shut down, with residents asked to stay indoors, because of a shooting investigation in the St. Bethlehem area.

At about 3:18 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to a shooting at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Holiday Drive. That intersection has been shut down, and motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the scene can be cleared.

Police have set up a perimeter in the area of Old Trenton Road, 101st Airborne Division Parkway, Whitfield Road and Pea Ridge Road. “The public (in that area) is asked to stay in their residence and report any suspicious activity by calling 911,” CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien said.

No further information was immediately released.
