CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – For the past nine days, over 150 volunteers in Clarksville have been sewing masks and building face shields for local health care facilities as part of Operation Come Together #stayhomeandsew.

Founder Victoria Shoulders says they have been working nonstop, “trying to help as many as (they) can as quick as (they) can.”

Through the efforts of the volunteers in the last week, over 2,000 masks have been made and close to 600 shields have already been delivered.  Masks and face shields have been sent to medical facilities, first responders, health care workers, and other essential workers.  Plans are also underway to send masks to the Tennessee State Veterans Home.
