CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Each year the Tennessee Association of Independent Colleges and Schools (TAICS) recognizes outstanding Instructors at their Annual Conference. They award one instructor with the Outstanding Instructor of the Year plaque and honorably mention two other distinguished instructors. This year, TAICS selected North Central Institute’s (NCI) instructor, Keith Svadba.
Keith attends the Tennessee Mid-South Aviation Conference annually and works diligently on professional development by utilizing the FAA Wings program each year. He is a member of the Aviation Fraternity (Alpha Eta Rho), and educates students using a variety of teaching methods to ensure they not only learn but understand and retain the information and skills needed to be successful in the aviation field. Keith uses their backgrounds and interests to relate the class and lab information to life scenarios; his specific skill sets enhance both his technical ability and his classroom interaction with the students.
He continues to keep current in industry standards and maintain an active community involvement ensuring the students see what it takes to be a successful working member of society.
In 2013, Steve Wilson, an NCI instructor, received an honorable mention for his contributions to the education field. He is a proficient in aviation and goes above and beyond to ensure the students understand and retain the information taught in his classes. Another instructor of NCI, Samson Peltier, was nominated for the award in a previous year. NCI couldn’t be more proud of the educators within our facility!
