NASHVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, fall weather and lower temperatures will be arriving in Tennessee very soon.

In an October 1 Facebook post, the NWS said, “We have two days left in this ridiculous autumn heat wave before the long-awaited heat-busting cold front arrives late Thursday.”

Friday temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s, descending into the 50’s Saturday morning before rising through the day.

The weather service did add that this initial cold front is not expected to bring rain, but went on to say that a second front is expected to move into the region between Sunday and Monday.

This weekend weather is predicted to bring rain, and with it, the beginnings of fall temperatures. Highs for the next week are largely in the 70’s. Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8 & 9, have the potential for morning temperatures in the 40’s and 50’s.

“I think it might be safe to say that summer is finally over, said Krissy Hurley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Nashville.
