CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Spring is just around the corner and spring is usually the worst time of the year for severe weather around our region. The National Weather Service Office in Nashville is hosting a SkyWarn Storm Spotter Class for those wanting to learn more about the weather.

The free class will be held Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. in Room 307 of the Morgan University Center at Austin Peay State University. The class will feature Meteorologist Krissy Hurley.

“Those that should attend are those who are interested in weather and learning more about severe weather and storm spotting. If they’ve been interested in weather for a short time or their entire life, they should come and find out about severe weather and weather safety,” Hurley said.

Hurley added that this class will help you identify storm structures, different things you see and how to report severe weather to the National Weather Service.

The SkyWarn Storm Spotter Class is free and no registration is required to attend.
