CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County annual National Night Out event took place Tuesday at Austin Peay State University. The theme was “Give Neighborhood Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party.”

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign held on Aug. 2 each year that promotes police-community partnerships to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Local and state law enforcement agencies and other first responders were on hand along with Clarksville and Montgomery County public services, and many nonprofit organizations with prizes and giveaways.

The Mathew Walker Comprehensive Health Center mobile clinic was on site providing health and dental screenings. The Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopter landed at the APSU softball field for viewing by the public.
