CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville native Nate “The Train” Landwehr is set to fight Shane “Sugar” Young Saturday, Sept. 26 at UFC 253.
A location for the event has yet to be determined.
The featherweight bout will be Landwehr’s third fight inside the UFC octagon.
After falling to Herbert Burns in his debut, Landwehr bounced back with a win by unanimous decision over Darren Elkins in May.
Landwehr (14-3) will take on the New Zealand-born Young (13-4) who has put together back-to-back wins.
Young’s last loss came against the current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in 2017 back at UFC Fight Night 121.
Many experts believe having Landwehr and Young square off is excellent matchmaking, as the two each display exciting fighting styles.
Young is a representative of City Kickboxing and this will be his first fight since February of 2019.
Landwehr currently trains at Wildside Combat Sports Center in Clarksville.
