CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville native Nate “The Train” Landwehr secured his first UFC victory Saturday inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Landwehr faced off against UFC veteran Darren “The Damage” Elkins at UFC Fight Night 172 in the third bout of the night.

After a three-round brawl, it was Landwehr who eventually got his hand raised by referee Herb Dean in the featherweight contest.

One judge scored the fight 29-28 in Landwehr’s favor while the other two judges saw it 30-27 for Landwehr, resulting in a win by unanimous decision.

With the victory, the 31-year-old Landwehr improves his professional record to 14-3 and UFC record to 1-1.

Landwehr, the former M-1 Global featherweight champion, relinquished his title with the promotion before making his UFC debut at UFC on ESPN+ 24 on January 25.

The entertaining showman put on an impressive performance in front of UFC president Dana White on Saturday, landing a flurry of vicious elbows and knees that left Elkins a bloody mess.

In his post-fight interview, Landwehr shouted out his hometown of Clarksville while letting White know he’s ready for “Fight Island”.

Landwehr currently trains at Wildside Fitness and Martial Arts in Clarksville.
