CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The decision to close Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools on Friday, February 7 was forced due to a miscommunication with a Nashville television station.

A statement released by the Clarksville Montgomery County School System said “A Nashville news station erroneously announced early Friday morning that CMCSS was closed.” Officials with the school system had not yet made that decision.

However, due to the confusion and complications surrounding a correction in communication, the school system was forced to instead issue a school closing.

Any closings or delays by the school system will result in notifications to the families of students and the local media. ClarksvilleNow does not report on school closing until it has received official word from the school system, whether by automated call or email from the Communications Office.
