CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The suspect in a murder in North Nashville was arrested Monday after running his vehicle into the Cumberland River in Clarksville.
John Holman Jr. is charged with criminal homicide in the killing of 46-year-old Donna Adams, who died of an apparent beating.

WKRN reports that Metro officers were called to a home in North Nashville on Monday around 7 a.m. to perform a welfare check when they discovered the body.
Holman later ran his vehicle into the Cumberland River at McGregor Park in Clarksville and was rescued by a fisherman in a boat. Clarksville police reported that Holman “made admissions” concerning Adams’ murder, according to a press release from Metro Nashville PD.
Holman was convicted of two counts of domestic assault in 2016 arising out of a dispute with Adams and their adult son.
Holman’s vehicle was recovered by the Montgomery County EMS Special Operations Scuba Team.
The investigation is ongoing.
