Myra Vern Dixon Fisher, 87, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Grace Healthcare of Franklin.

Myra was born on June 8, 1928, in Waycross, GA to the late Hughie Dixon and Mattie Woodard Dixon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George “Coach” Fisher; son, Mickey Fisher; six brothers; and one sister.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. John David Laida officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.

Myra worked in the Admissions Office at Austin Peay State University for over 20 years, where she touched a lot of lives and made many friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville. She was a loving and caring person, who especially enjoyed her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Myra is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Red) Roberts; daughter-in-law, Mary Fisher; two brothers, Lamar (Hilda) Dixon and Jimmy (Martha) Dixon; sister, Marilyn (Grady) Thornhill; six grandchildren, Amy Roberts (Chris) Shurden, Allison Roberts, Hunter Fisher, Brad (Erika) Roberts, Brett (Katie) Fisher, and Ryne (Ellen) Fisher; and six great-grandchildren, Kate Shurden, Owen Shurden, Myra Elizabeth Fisher, Bailey Fisher, Mickey Fisher, and Anna Claire Fisher.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Fisher, Brad Roberts, Brett Fisher, Ryne Fisher, Chris Shurden, and Red Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Peay Athletes of Coach Fisher’s Era.
