CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Every year during the first full week of May, Goodwill agencies across the United States and Canada celebrate the power of work through local events and promotions.
Governor Bill Haslam has issued a state proclamation declaring the week of May 5, Goodwill Week in Tennessee.
This year, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee will celebrate Goodwill Week by hosting more than 70 events, including approximately 50 job fairs, at the 26 Goodwill Career Solutions centers across Middle and West Tennessee.
Six of those events will take place in Clarksville. Four are listed below.
-Need to know how to sell yourself at a job fair? The Goodwill Career Solutions center on Ft. Campbell Boulevard will host a workshop from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5. This workshop will help prepare job seekers for the upcoming job fairs.
-The Goodwill Career Solutions center on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard will host a job fair from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 for Oak Plains Academy and Express Employment Professionals. These employers are looking to fill dozens of positions in Montgomery and Cheatham Counties.
-The Goodwill Career Solutions center on Ft. Campbell Boulevard will host a job fair from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and Speedway. These employers are looking to fill dozens of positions in Montgomery County.
-Goodwill’s Employment Case Manager, located at the New Providence Community Policing Center on Providence Boulevard, will host a job fair from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, May 9. This job fairs will feature several employers looking to fill more than 60 positions in Montgomery and Robertson Counties.
Employers include Clarksville Transit System, TalentForce, LaborReady and Spartan Staffing.
Representatives from the companies attending the three job fairs will be on site and interviews are possible, so dress for success. Job candidates are encouraged to bring resumes, photo ID, Social Security card or birth certificate.
