FORT CAMPBELL, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fort Campbell released additional information regarding a motorcycle accident that occurred the evening of July 2. The Army confirmed that the man killed was Pfc. Brandon Casey Nicol.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 2 near Mile Marker 1 on I-24.

The accident is still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Anyone with information should call 615-741-2060.

Nicol, 24, of White Oak, Texas, was a cannon crewmember assigned to 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He joined the Army in 2018 and arrived to Fort Campbell in 2018.

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

Nicol will be posthumously promoted to Specialist and receive the Army Commendation Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal.

“The Bastogne brigade is saddened by the passing of Brandon, he will be missed,” said Lt. Col. Timothy Sulzner, commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team (Rear), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Brandon lived a life dedicated to serving his country and his legacy and spirit will continue to radiate throughout the 101st Airborne Division.”
