CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash near the intersection of Tiny Town Road and Cainlo Drive at 5:11 a.m. Saturday.
29-year-old Jeremy Halstead from Clarksville was found by Officer J. Katz who radioed that he could not find a pulse. He was pronounced dead at Tennova Hospital.
Joseph Karnes, a 24-year-old Waverly resident, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, Vehicular Homicide, and Non-Compliance With Financial Responsibility (Insurance Required). Alcohol is believed to have been a factor. Test results are pending from a blood draw done by search warrant. Additional charges may follow.
Karnes was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck that hit the victim’s 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
CPD Traffic Investigator Larry Harris is leading the investigation.
