ELKTON, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Troopers from Kentucky State Police arrested a Todd County resident after a motorcycle pursuit that ended on Brumfield Road Friday morning.

Trooper Justin Cornett saw a motorcycle traveling on West Jefferson Davis Highway over the posted speed limit. The driver of the motorcycle fled as the trooper turned on his emergency equipment in an attempt to pull him over.

Police said the pursuit lasted several miles in Todd County before the motorcycle lost control and crashed in an open field. The motorcyclist was not injured.

Jeffery Wade Fletcher, 42, Elkton, was arrested and booked into the Todd County Jail on the following charges:

• Speeding 10 mph over limit
• Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (motor vehicle)
• Driving DUI Suspended License 2nd Offense (aggravating circumstances)
• Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (aggravating circumstances) 3rd Offense
• Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree Police Officer
• No Registration Receipt
• No Registration Plates
• Possession of Marijuana
• Reckless Driving
