CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Moss’ Southern Cooking is no more, either as a restaurant or as a building. The iconic Memorial Drive restaurant was demolished on Thursday by the new property owners.

Moss’ closed Dec. 13, 2024, after 27 years of serving meat-and-three Southern food standards. The final owner, Sheila Moss, told Clarksville Now in October 2024 when the sale was announced that she hoped the new building owners would take over operations and keep the restaurant as-is.

The new owner of 253 Clearview Drive, Todd Morris, purchased the commercial property on June 27 for $575,000, according to Montgomery County property records. The owner plans to build a 6,600-square-foot one-story office building, according to site plans filed with the Regional Planning Commission.

Clarksville Now has reached out to Todd Morris Construction and Properties for comment.

The building dated to 1961 when it was built by Robert Davenport as Davenport’s Market. He sold the building to the Moss family in 2012, according to property records.
