FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – More than 40 Fort Campbell soldiers returned home from a deployment to Afghanistan early Tuesday morning, according to WKRN News 2.
The soldiers from the 21st Brigade Engineer Battalion and 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans” landed around 6:30 a.m. They were reunited with their families about 30 minutes later.
During their 9-month deployment, the soldiers primarily helped support the Afghan troops.
Tuesday’s return marked the fifth for Fort Campbell soldiers over the last two weeks.
