CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Around 20 homes were vandalized in the Meriwether Farms subdivision off Exit 1, near Northeast High School.
Clarksville Police are now investigating and have confirmed multiple homes were targeted overnight. Garage doors, street signs and mail boxes were spray painted “527” and accompanied by profanity or symbols such as a crown.
Clarksville Police Department Public Information Officer, Natalie Hall, told Clarksvillenow.com, “We have no known gangs associated with the number “527.” With May 27, “527” being the High School Graduation Date, we believe this is possibly a prank,” said Hall.
Amanda Hale, a resident of Meriwether Farms agrees. “I’m 100% positive this isn’t gang related and is just some sort of terrible senior prank,” she said.
Shannon Hohman, who lives on Glenhurst Way and first alerted Clarksvillenow to the story said she was visited by police Tuesday morning who indicated the vandalism may be gang related. Police say this is still an “Open investigation.”
