CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Expect more lane and road closures on Warfield Blvd. next week as construction continues.
On Wednesday, June 20 at 9 p.m. through Thursday, June 21 at 5 a.m., Warfield Blvd. will be reduced to one lane for storm drain installation across the highway. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic in each direction as needed.
There will also be intermittent road closures on Warfield Blvd. between LM 2-3 for pre-split blasting through June 20.
All traffic will be halted during the blasting process until all debris is removed from roadway.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation says these closures will occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The $20.6 million project will widen the 2.27-mile stretch of Warfield from three lanes to five lanes with curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The work will include improvements to the intersections at Dunbar Cave Road, Rossview Road, and Ted Crozier Boulevard with additional turn lanes and new, upgraded traffic signals.
The City of Clarksville placed some sales-tax proceeds into a dedicated road fund, and negotiated an agreement with TDOT to contribute $1.5 million in City funding to assist with utility relocation, right-of-way acquisition and design to speed up the project.
