CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization (VSO) along with Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4895 held their annual Flag Day Retirement Ceremony at the VFW Post. Hundreds of worn, damaged, or otherwise non-serviceable American flags were properly destroyed in a dignified manner.
Clarksville Fire Rescue Firefighters from Station #3 were on hand at the ceremony as a safety precaution as the flags were burned in the ceremony. For future Flag Day Retirement Ceremonies, flags can be dropped off between 8 a.m. & 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, at the VSO office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 308, in Veterans Plaza.
