CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Coalition (MCVC) was recently honored with a special proclamation by City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden, recognizing the Coalition’s 10 years of dedicated service to the veteran community.
In a presentation held at the MCVC monthly meeting, Pitts and Golden presented the proclamation to Executive Director CC Wheeler and founder Sherry Pickering, highlighting the coalition’s unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and their families. MCVC has been instrumental in advocating for veteran rights, collaborating essential services, and fostering a sense of community among veterans in the area.
Pitts commended the MCVC for its outstanding work, stating, “The Montgomery County Veterans Coalition has been a cornerstone in our community, offering invaluable resources and support to our veterans. Their dedication over the past decade has made a profound impact, and we are proud to recognize their achievements.”
Golden echoed these sentiments, adding, “The coalition’s efforts have significantly improved the quality of life for many veterans and their families in Montgomery County. This proclamation is a testament to their hard work, and we look forward to their continued success in the years to come.”
Since its inception, MCVC has advocated for our veteran community through education, collaboration, and resourcing. The coalition’s efforts have also included organizing community events, workshops, and outreach programs to raise awareness about veteran issues.
Wheeler expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “We are deeply honored to receive this proclamation. It reflects the hard work and dedication of our team, volunteers, and community partners. We remain committed to serving our veterans and ensuring they receive the support they deserve.”
