CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Montgomery County is among several Middle- Tennessee counties under a moderate flood watch that went into effect at noon Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
The National Weather Services in Nashville has issued a flood watch for portions of Middle Tennessee and the flood watch is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
Rainfall in amounts of 1 to 3 inches is expected and heavy rainfall could lead to flooding of roads, low lying areas, low water crossings, rivers, creeks, and streams.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
Residents are advised to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings and those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
