CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Montgomery County Republican Party Executive Committee recently elected new leaders during its biennial reorganization.
Local attorney Rob Bateman was elected as chairman to serve a two-year term. He succeeds Sharon Massey Grimes, who served as party chairman since 2015.
Corinthia Elder and Adam Walker were elected women’s and men’s co-chairs, respectively. Elder was the party’s 2018 nominee for county trustee while Walker serves as president of the Austin Peay State University College Republicans.
Brad Morrow is the party’s new treasurer while District 18 County Commissioner Jason Knight was elected assistant treasurer. Longtime member Marie Tillman was elected as recording secretary and Debbie Aquino is the new corresponding secretary.
Rounding out the executive committee are members: Ana Ward, Robert Nash, Gail Longton, Charlie Martin, Linda Martin, Pat Allen, Tom Allen, John Dawson, Jimmy Brown, David Hooper and Dr. Art Carpenter. Sharon Massey Grimes, as immediate past chairman, is retained on the board as well.
“We have a very solid group of officers,” Bateman said. “They come from throughout the community and each is willing to step up and serve the party along with the rest of our community.”
The party executive meeting meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held at party headquarters located at 1817A Madison St Suite 1. Visitors are welcome to attend.
