CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County broke its own COVID-19 record Sunday, as the Tennessee Department of Health reports there were 102 new positive virus cases confirmed. This is the highest ever daily, new case report.

In addition, the county’s Director of Public Health Joey Smith reports there were 5 new COVID-19 deaths reported over the weekend.

The only day report to even come close was back on July 17, when the county reported 91 new cases. The county’s COVID-19 dashboard also states that there are currently 540 total active cases. This is a definitive increase from the 481 total active cases reported on Oct. 19.

COVID-19 numbers

Here are the Montgomery County numbers updated on the county’s dashboard as of today, Oct. 19:

  • 3,903 total confirmed cases since March 6
  • 540 active cases
  • 138 total hospitalizations
  • 56 total deaths
  • 50,664 total negative lab results

While Clarksville Now normally includes the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System numbers in our updates, there are no current updates on their respective dashboard as of 9:30 a.m. this morning, or yesterday.

Here are the Austin Peay State University numbers, which have decreased slightly according to their dashboard:

  • 28 students with confirmed cases
  • 92 students in quarantine
  • 6 staff and faculty members with confirmed cases
  • 25 staff and faculty members in quarantine

Free COVID-19 testing is offered by the Montgomery County Health Department in a temporary location at Civitan Park, 650 Bellamy Lane, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday. Follow the signs to the drive-up testing site.
