CLARKSVILLE, TN − Five standout seniors from the Montgomery County Rangers took center stage at the GNASH (Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey) Senior Game on Aug. 25. The game, held at the Ford Ice Center in Bellevue, brought together the top senior players from various schools pitting Team O’Neil versus Team Williams for fun and bragging rights.
The five Rangers players represented on Team O’Neil — Forwards #93 Andy Lietz of Rossview High, #38 Caleb Martin of Homelife Academy, # 37 Thomas Freiling of Clarksville Christian School, and Defenseman #4 Cameron Wells of Northeast High, and #11 Owen Roder of Rossview High — displayed their skills and teamwork.
Cameron Wells and Owen Roder anchored the defense with composure and physicality. Wells shut down several key plays by the opposing team, drawing praise from coaches and spectators alike. Andy Lietz and Caleb Martin brought their offensive prowess to the fore. Martin thrilled the crowd with a one-timer goal in the penultimate period set up by Lietz.
Thomas Freiling led by example. His relentless forechecking and smart plays in the neutral zone disrupted the opposition’s rhythm, creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.
Coach Josh Tobin, who will guide the Rangers for their first season, expressed his pride in his players. “These seniors have been the heart and soul of our team. They’ve shown incredible commitment and have set a high standard for the younger players coming up behind them. Tonight, they proved why they’re among the best in GNASH.”
