CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County Director of Communications, Holly Hoechstenbach, was arrested early Sunday on a charge of Driving Under The Influence.
Clarksvillenow.com spoke with County Mayor Jim Durrett Sunday morning who said the arrest “is a personnel matter and I don’t need to comment.”
He went on to say, “Holly is a probationary employee and we will address the matter in accord with the county personnel policy on Monday.”
Durrett said in an email Monday morning that he has accepted Hoechstenbach’s resignation.
Hoechstenbach was named Communications Director/Public Information Officer for Montgomery County Government in March.
According to an arrest warrant and police report, a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper observed Hoechstenbach’s vehicle “swerving erratically” on Golf Club Lane around 3 a.m. The trooper said he stopped the vehicle on the 41A Bypass.
The trooper said in the report that Hoechstenbach had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. He asked her to perform five field sobriety tests and said she performed poorly on all of them.
Her court date is set for the morning of May 8.
