CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office bids farewell to two senior deputies who have worked in law enforcement for 90 years combined.
Lt. Brian Prentice and Deputy Bob Angus both retired June 29, 2018 after 45 and 44 years of service respectively.
County Mayor Jim Durrett presented them with their service weapons, badges, as well as awards for their service.
Reserve Deputy Bob Angus served on the Rescue Squad in 1972, the Sheriff’s Office reserves in 1974, the St. Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Service in 1984. He also served in Vietnam and Germany from 66-72 and joined the National Guard in 1973.
After retirement, Angus plans on traveling with his wife Glenda in their RV as well as spending time with his two children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Lieutenant Brian Prentice has had a 44-year career in public service with the Clarksville Police Department in 1974; became Director of Juvenile Courts in 1976; moved over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in 1979; He served his country from 1966-1973 as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War; rising to the rank of Captain in the Army.
Lt. Brian Prentice and wife, Judy, reside in Clarksville, TN have two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and for retirement Lt. Prentice plans on just putting his feet up and living the sweet life.
