Clarksville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Chapel Hill Lions traveled across the river to Montgomery Central High School for a flag football matchup with the Indians. While the Lions battled and made timely stops, the Indians early scoring was too much to overcome, and Central earned a 28-0 win to celebrate senior night.

Early on, the passing attack for the Indians, led by junior quarterback Audrey Levendusky, was producing big play after big play. Receivers Katarina Vidovic and Hope Pettys both caught touchdowns, while Levendusky ran one in herself for a 21-0 lead at the half. MCHS scored one more touchdown in the second half while their defense stood strong, earning them a big win on senior night.

“We played well defensively, I’m proud of the girls’ effort all-around today,” said Indians head coach Billy Youngquist. “It was a good team win, and there were a lot of girls involved, and we got to see some of the younger girls get time too. Our goal, every time we go out there, is to get better, and we did that today.”

While Chapel Hill fell to Montgomery Central, this is a historic season for the Lions as it’s their first year as a program. The team is composed entirely of 8th graders and freshmen. For this program, and head coach Mark Crawn, they battled with one of the top teams in the area and showed that they have a bright future ahead.

“This is the best team they’re going to see, and it was very impressive how we played with them,” said Crawn. “I think of it like the first Rocky. He didn’t win the fight, but he got the respect, and that’s what these girls did tonight. They never quit. It’s really awesome to see them grow, and they’re having a great time. It all comes back to God; that’s what everything we’re building is centered around.”
