CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery Central boys varsity wrestling team went 5-0 at Cheatham Duals on Saturday, including a 45-33 finals win over rival Fairview in the finals.

It’s been years since Montgomery Central had a team that could compete with Fairview, let alone beat them. In fact, only two seasons ago, Fairview beat the Indians 57-15. The title run also included wins over Cascade 60-24, Harpeth 60-21, Springfield 51-27, and a nail-biting 37-37 criteria win over Northwest, a team that had beaten them earlier this season.

Starring for Montgomery Central were 150-pound senior Reese Levendusky, an All-Area First Teamer last season, who went 4-0 with three pins and a major decision, moving his record to 18-1 on the season.

Also putting together a solid day was 106-pound Austin Laudedale, who went 4-1 with one pin; 144-pound Jeremy Mills, who went 4-1 with three pins; 157-pound Levi Mayfield, who went 4-1 with four pins, and 175-pound Josh Hodges, who went 4-1 with a pin. 138-pound Craig Sudderth also had a big day, going 3-2 with three pins, including the match-deciding fall in the finals to seal the title over Fairview.

Central moved their duals record to 11-3 on the season. They’ll compete again this week against Rossview, Fort Campbell, and Kenwood.
