CLARKSVILLE, TN – Montgomery Central Middle School fell short in the last game of the 2026 season. It was not for a lack of effort from the Indians, who took on the Richview Middle School Cowboys on Tuesday, Sept. 28. The Indians, coached by Joshua Byrne, lost 18-0; however, they played a great game against the No. 2 team in the district.
Montgomery Central, led by Brayden Rittenhouse with his intense run attack, filled in as quarterback late in the third quarter when the starting quarterback was injured. Rittenhouse connected for a deep pass just short of the first down to linebacker and running back Hagan MacGregor. MacGregor shut down the deep ball and screen and also led the Indians in tackles.
Kyler Parker led the Indians with some huge blocks that set the tone. The Indians walk away from a season not exactly with the results they wanted, but with a lot of growth and a step in the right direction.
