CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery Central High School has announced the hiring of their new head football coach, Wyatt Page.

Page is an alumni of Creek Wood High School, Montgomery Central’s longtime rival, where he played offensive lineman for the Red Hawks. He played at the collegiate NAIA level with Cumberland University, starting 34 games, serving as a team captain twice, and being named to the Academic All Mid-South Conference Team.

Page joined Sycamore High School’s staff as an offensive assistant coach. He was named the Region 6 3A assistant coach of the year last season, leading the highest scoring offense in Sycamore history.

“I would like to thank the administration of Montgomery Central High School for this opportunity,” Page said in a statement. “My wife Allie, my son Jett, and I are very excited to be part of the Montgomery Central family! I am dedicated to building a program that is based on hard work, discipline, academics, and being a great representation of the Cunningham community. It’s time to get to work! Looking forward to meeting you all soon.”

Page replaces Corey Wright, who was coach for two years. During that time, MCHS won only one game, going 1-9 in 2022 and 0-10 in 2023.

MCHS Athletic Director Jason Greene said there was a lot of interest in the position.

“We narrowed the large pool of resumes we received and interviewed who we felt were the top candidates for the position. Ultimately, the team felt that Coach Page was the best fit for the position based on his playing and coaching experience, vision for both the athletic and academic aspects of the team, and overall enthusiasm for the future of our program,” Greene said. “We are excited to see what our team can do under his direction.”
