CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery Central High hosted the undefeated Marshall County Tigers on Friday, Oct. 11, as the Indians celebrated senior night. While MCHS left it all on the field, Marshall County overpowered the Indians to win 47-0.
Before the game began, seniors representing Montgomery Central football were honored, and MCHS head coach Wyatt Page gave his senior leaders high praise.
“I can’t put into words how special of a group they are,” Page told Clarksville Now. “Three coaching changes, hard seasons, but they have no quit and stayed with it. They’re leaving a legacy here at this program that will be looked back at in a few years with a lot of respect; they’re changing the culture.”
Marshall County dominated on each side of the ball early on in the contest, which included scoring four consecutive touchdowns on their first four possessions. Meanwhile, Montgomery Central’s offense was kept in check throughout the night. Page said penalties and other factors lead to his team’s loss in week eight.
“We hurt ourselves a few times,” said Page. “We got behind the sticks, had holding (penalties), and you can’t have that. We had some lapses on defense, too, and those are all things we’re going to address.”
