“We’ve got a lot of good girls out here, a lot of girls that came back from last year’s team,” Harp told Clarksville Now. “It was good to get a win to start this year off.”
Northeast High lost the game in the end, but there were some positive takeaways for the Eagles, including their quarterback play with Desiree Brown leading the offense. Brown’s lateral quickness, arm strength and speed kept the Eagles offense moving forward throughout the night.
Northeast head coach Sam Lipsey, who is also the head coach for high school football team, was nothing but complimentary about his QB.
“She’s just a playmaker,” Lipsey said. “She’s able to facilitate the offense, make sure we’re lined up right, she’s electric. We’re going to continue to try to put the ball in her hands and let her make plays.”
