CLARKSVILLE, TN – Montgomery Central boys wrestling continued their remarkable season at the Bruise Brothers Brawl in Springfield over the weekend, coming home with six champs and a team title.

Winning titles were freshman Wesley Sudderth at 113 pounds; sophomore Jack Levendusky at 126 pounds; junior Caden Figueroa at 144 pounds; senior Tamarion Johnson at 150 pounds; senior Josh Hodges at 175 pounds; and junior Cayson Rasch at 190 pounds.

Sudderth won in dramatic style at 113, narrowly escaping a takedown in the final seconds to win it 4-3. At 126, Levendusky beat two returning state qualifiers to win the title, including a 3-2 victory in the finals over a Cheatham County rival. Figueroa won a battle of teammates in an all-Central final at 144. At 150, Johnson completed a dominant performance with a 10-0 victory in the finals. Josh Hodges earned his 100th career victory en route to his title, and Rasch remained undefeated at 24-0 to earn the crown.

The Indians added seven more who placed in the top 4 and earned medals, including freshman Blake Mills who was 3rd at 120; sophomore Jacob Jolley who was 3rd at 132; Jonathan Francis who placed 2nd at 144; Alex Babuscio who was 3rd at 157; Zach Nord who landed in 3rd at 215; Hunter Mitchell who was 3rd at 285; and Aiden Buckley who took 2nd at 285.

In the team race, #7 state-ranked Montgomery Central had 205 team points to finish on top, outpacing Greenbrier who scored 178 points, and third place #6 ranked Alcoa who had 157.5 points.

After Christmas break, the Montgomery Central wrestling program is hosting the first-annual Immanuel Gilmore JV County Championships, an event that will honor Gilmore, who suffered a neck injury last season that left him paralyzed.
