CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Each Montgomery Central basketball program hosted its regular season finale on Monday, Feb. 14. The Indians hosted White House High as the two sides battled it out throughout the night.

Montgomery Central boys’ basketball came out of the gate aggressively to start their game on Monday, but it wasn’t enough in the end. The Blue Devils came away with the road victory by a score of 52–40.

The Indians’ defensive presence was on full display as they outscored White House 13-9 in the first quarter. However, the Blue Devils slowly picked up momentum moving forward in the contest. Little by little, they started to build their lead.

In the end, Montgomery Central struggled to get stops and keep up with White House offensively in the final quarter of play. The Indians lost by double figures, dropping their regular-season finale.

The Indians were led in scoring by Josiah Rankhorn, who had 12 points when the matchup concluded.

Montgomery Central girls’ basketball

Montgomery Central’s girls’ basketball started off strong during their game as well, but ultimately fell at the end of their game. The Lady Indians lost by a score of 21–34.

The game was tight throughout the entirety of the first half, with the advantage playing toward Montgomery Central. The home squad was neck-and-neck with their opponent during the first quarter but found separation going into the second.

Montgomery Central led 20-16 before the halftime buzzer sounded, but their offensive production disappeared after the half. The team only scored one point during the second half of action due to the adjustments White House made at halftime.

After taking the lead in the third quarter, the Blue Devils didn’t look back and held on for a 13-point victory on Monday. Sarah Rankhorn led the Indians in scoring when all was said and done. She scored 11 out of the team’s 21 points on the night.

With the conclusion of their regular seasons, each Montgomery Central basketball program will turn their attention to their district tournaments as they gameplan for postseason play.
