CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville mother claims her 8-year-old son was late to school Monday because his bus never arrived to pick him up.
WKRN News 2 reports that Amber Roberts called her son Brentyn’s school after his bus did not arrive. Monday was considered an extreme cold weather route day, which means children are picked up and dropped off directly at their homes.
Roberts told News 2 this is the fourth time this month that a bus has not arrived to pick up her son.
Elise Shelton, spokesperson for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, said there was confusion because schools started two hours late Monday and the bus driver for Brentyn’s area was a substitute.
Shelton wants to remind parents that when bus drivers go door-to-door on extreme weather days, it takes more time than usual.
