CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – ‘Slick’ Will Calhoun of the Clarksville Fight Club and the Joe Lewis fighting system will make his professional debut Saturday, August 29 at the ‘Back to School Beat Down’ presented by A&A Fightime Promotions at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Center.

Calhoun is a native of Decatur Ga., who after completing his military service settled in Clarksville to continue his training and competition.

The ‘Back to School Beat Down’ mixed martial arts (MMA) event will begin at 6 p.m. and consists of two professional fights, eight amateur fights, and a series of kickboxing matches.

The event is open to all ages. General admission tickets are $25 and VIP ringside tickets are $45. Tickets for children $12 and under are $10.

The Foy Center is located at 125 Marion St.

Calhoun holds an amateur MMA record of 17/3 with 14 knockouts and 2 submissions and a perfect 5/0 muay thai record with 4 knockouts.

He earned 6 titles as an amateur, was the Joe Lewis fighting system pound for pound fighter of the year in 2014, and is also the former Ft. Campbell 140 pounds modern army combative champion.

Will is a black belt in the Joe Lewis fighting system and is trained by black belts Eric Chester and Martin Huff.

He also holds instructor certification in jeet kune do, is a brazilian jiu jitsu blue belt and level 3 modern army combative instructor.
