CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Pageant will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Emmanuel Life Center at 303 Fairview Lane.
Jaliyah Peterson, the reigning Miss Black Clarksville, will complete her year of service and appear at the event to crown a new queen. Jaliyah is a freshman at Spelman College, in Atlanta, Georgia. She will serve as the Emcee of the evening.
The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Contestants will be judged on sportswear, talent, eveningwear, and an on stage interview. In addition, the contestants are required to select a platform they feel strongly about and support it through community service.
Those competing for the title of Miss Black Clarksville 2015 are: Kendra Phillips, Jessica Tucker, Deyaucha Douglas, Camille Kendrick, Eriel Smith, Shalyn Davis, Nyla Gwan, Jamiya Talton, Kialae Pereiar and Di’Andre Carter.
Aureonya Glen is Junior Miss, Robyn Gordon is Little Miss, and Demali Rittman is Mini Miss. They will be crowning new princesses in their categories. Contestants for Junior Miss are: Ajayla Berry, Carlyle Coppin, Ashley Roberts, Nakeya Robinson, Carmecia Walker and Keyera Williams. Contestants for Little Miss are: Patrice Crawford, Clarity Johnson, Jada Sherifford, and Leila Stover. Contestants for Mini Miss are: Camille Coppin, Calia Dickerson, and Aderia Jelk.
Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program is a non-profit organization operated solely by community volunteers. The program promotes one hundred percent graduation rate, and it has increased community support for higher education.
