CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The 15th Annual Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Pageant will take place on Saturday, February 22 at Kenwood High School at 6:00 p.m.

President and Founder of Miss Black Clarksville, Ms. Carol Berry, said Miss Black Clarksville is not just another beauty pageant, it is an organization of hope, motivation, and encouragement for participants.

Ajayla Rasin was crowned the 2019 Miss Black Clarksville. She was a Senior at Northeast High School at that time. Presently, she is attending Austin Peay State University. Ajayla is majoring in Psychology and upon completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend graduate school to become a Counselor.

Ajayla plans to continue her education and training to become a Psychological Therapist.

The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Contestants will be judged on sports wear, talent, evening wear, and on stage interviews. In addition, the contestants are required to select a platform they fell strongly about and support it through community service.

The senior contestants that will compete for the Title of Miss Black Clarksville 2020 are: Timariel Carraway, Jazmyne Nalor, Keyera Williams, and Sh’Niyah Horn.

Those that will compete in the other categories are: Junior Miss: Almoni Clark, Key Aira Jefferson, Staciera Jefferson, Ja Teara Jefferson, Khayla Maduka, Shyrie Mazique, Aniyah Scott, Amaiyah Scott, and Makayla Walker. Little Miss: Khamiyah Bingham, Bri’Aira Jefferson, Sienna Lewis, Lazaeiah Northington, and Aria Joelle Willis.

The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program is a non-profit corporation that is operated by all community volunteers. The program promotes one hundred percent graduation rate, and it has increased community support for higher education and awarded over 100 scholarships in the last 14 years.

The organization provides enrichment sessions and encourages girls and young ladies to reach their potential and to fulfill their dreams. Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program is making dreams come true one scholarship at a time.
