CLARKSVILLE, TN – The MisFitNation, a Clarksville, Tennessee-based veteran-led media platform dedicated to sharing powerful stories of resilience, grit and service, was awarded Veteran Podcast of the Year at the 2025 M3 Gala, hosted by the American Freedom Fund (AFF). The event took place December 10th at the Willard InterContinental Hotel.

The M3 Gala is one of the nation’s premier gatherings honoring service and sacrifice. The event brings together service members, veterans, Gold Star Families, Congressional leaders, mission-driven organizations, and advocates from across the country. This year’s ceremony opened with the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, followed by a presentation of the colors by the Marine Barracks Washington, the national anthem, an invocation by Chaplain LT Harry “Max” Hazel (U.S. Navy, Ret.), and a moving POW/MIA tribute accompanied by taps.

The MisFitNation – founded and hosted by U.S. Army Veteran Rich LaMonica, who attended with his wife Gwen – received the nomination from David Willis, founder and host of Homefront Sitrep.

“We were shocked and incredibly humbled,” said Rich LaMonica, founder of The MisFitNation. “To stand beside outstanding shows like Freedom Friends and Homefront Sitrep was an honor in itself. Winning this award is a testament to our team, our listeners, and the mission we share with so many – to tell stories of courage, resilience, and perseverance, and to always say their names.”
