CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Romans Warrior Foundation will have a Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance on display through Sunday, July 14.
The Romans Warrior Foundation describes the wall as “a memorial to those who have fallen by no fault of their own due to acts of terror.” The Wall lists the names of nearly 11,000 individuals lost in the war on terrorism. On the other side is a timeline of the conflict dating back to 1983.
The “Wall of Remembrance” made its debut in 2011 in Anaheim, California with over 10,000 people visiting the site. It has since been displayed in cities throughout the United States.
The Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance will remain on display 24 hours a day in the parking lot of Screaming Eagle Cigars on Fort Campbell Blvd.
Founded by Brian Romans, a Marine Combat Veteran of the 1st and 2nd light armored reconnaissance battalions, the Romans Warrior Foundation supports Veterans, First Responders and Gold Star Families as they re-adjust to civilian life.
The veteran-run foundation began by providing cost-free, therapeutic weekend retreats to transitioning veterans. Their work has since grown to include the “Wall of Remembrance”, “What We Brought Home” a private social media group for combat veterans, and “What They Brought Home” a similar group for caretakers of combat veterans.
The organization is completely volunteer run with all proceeds going to benefit Veterans.
