Mildred Perigo Steward, age 76, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Tennova Healthcare.
Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mildred entered this life on January 22, 1947, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Ardie N. and Dorothy Mosier Perigo. She retired from AT&T and worked for the former Bellsouth in the 60’s. She started as a switchboard operator and worked her way up. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Lynn Steward; siblings, Willie E. Perigo, Johnny H. Perigo, and Zeldia Steward.
Survivors include her children, Matthew Doyle Steward, Timothy Ray Steward (Cam), and Janice Ann Perigo; siblings, Lonnie Perigo (Rachel), Ardie C. Perigo, David Perigo (Margie), Robert Perigo (Cindy), Connie Petrovich (Dragi), Callie Mosier (Daniel), Christine Reynolds, and Joyce Duncan, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
