NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America is answering the call from North Carolina Scout Councils to offer relief to victims of Hurricane Florence this past September.
Scouts, families, and friends are asked to help provide relief for families in this area by collecting library books for grades 1st-5th, and 5,000 school supply items for 58,000 children devastated by Hurricane Florence in eastern North Carolina.
Collections will take place now through Dec. 8 at Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America Council Service, 3414 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville TN.
Forty-six schools lost thousands of library books and school supplies from water damage or mold growth. Some schools were closed up to seven weeks. We are seeking specific items for donation, listed below:
• School supplies
• Loose-leaf paper packs (wide ruled)
• Washable markers
• Crayons
• Glue sticks
• Spiral notebooks
• #2 pens
• Ink pens (blue or black)
• Colored pencils
• Index cards with lines
• Books (age appropriate, grade specific)
• No baby or toddler books
• Hard back or Paper back
• Biographies / Autobiographies
• Fiction
• History
• Mystery
• Non-fiction
• Science
• Science-fiction
