A Celebration of Life service for CW4 Michael Von Koeppen, Army (Ret), will be Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Peterson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Michael was born on July 8, 1943, in Berlin, Germany to Serge and Inge Von Koeppen who preceded him in death. He passed away on April 29, 2023. Michael attended Grace Lutheran Church and retired from the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran and earned awards such as the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star Medal. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Renate Von Koeppen; son, Mark (Adriana) Von Koeppen; and grandsons, Michael and James Von Koeppen.
Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
