Michael Stanley Jones, age 69, passed away August 8, 2021.
He was born on July 27, 1952, the firstborn son of Maurice and Syble Jones. Michael attended Poplar Bluff Elementary School and graduated in 1970 from Poplar Bluff High School. In 1972, he moved with his family to Clarksville, where he attended Austin Peay State University.
Michael enjoyed riding his motorcycle and collecting Indian arrowheads. In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, Mike worked at Showdowns Night Club. After living in Atlanta, Ga. for four years, he returned to Tennessee in 1993 and opened a small convenience store in the community of Eva, Mike’s Village Market.
These were some of the best years of Mike’s life, and he greatly enjoyed serving the community of Eva. He remained in business until 2005, when his health began to fail.
In October of 2015, Michael became a resident of the former Grace Health Care, now known as Ahava Health Care. Mike resided here until his passing.
He is survived by his parents, Maurice and Syble Jones; siblings, Dan (Sarah) Jones, Martin Jones, Donna Jones Richardson and Teresa (Mark) Poole; three nieces, three nephews, two great-nephews and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Nancy Ruth Jones.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
