Michael R. Johnson, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday January 13th at home.

Mike was born January 5th, 1942, in Stockton, CA, to the late Albert Johnson and Beatrice Johnson. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Clark and Pauline Kallenberger.

Mr. Johnson was a retired US Army Veteran and was a Flight Engineer for the CH-54 Tarhe heavy lift helicopter. He spent multiple tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and Distinguished Flying cross in his career. He also retired from Civil Service after many years of providing support logistics for the US Army Aviation and Missile Command and as a Senior Support Staff Technical Representative. He also supported the CH-47 Chinook, UH-60 Blackhawk, OH-58D Kiowa and AH-64 Apache Helicopter.

Mr. Johnson will be buried with full military honors at the Chattanooga National Cemetery located at 1200 Bailey Ave.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his son Michael A. Johnson; nephew Russell Perkins and niece Aileen Kranz.
